After hitting White Sulpher Springs, Lucy was wild and ready to take on Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. According to my trusty Lonely Planet guide to the USA, this is "God's Country." They weren't kidding! This is a perfect drive for history buffs, especially if you are into Civil War history.

On the way to see James Madison's Montplier residence just outside of Orange, we passed through Culpeper, which saw the Brandy Station and Cedar Mountain battles during the Civil War. Did you know that 60% of the Civil War was fought on Virginia soil?

Lucy also had to swing through Charlottesville and let the bright young minds at the University of Virginia know about the launch of Dealerz Gone Wild on April 15, 2011. The UVA campus is spectacular--fitting for a university that was founded by no less than Thomas Jefferson himself!
